When Laura Thompson took over Slaughterhouse Coffee, she asked me to design a new set of logos for the much loved local coffee shop.
Slaughterhouse Coffee is located by the ferry slipway in Cromarty, near the site of what was once the village slaughterhouse. The coffee shop’s ethos is one of simplicity and attention to detail, so a brand was created to embody those values as well as its unique location next to the Cromarty Firth.
I created a suite of marks which can be adapted to suit different needs and situations. The logo is simple and bold, and references the coffee shop’s unique and spectacular setting.
Since designing the original brand, I have worked with Laura on several more occasions to create products and merchandise for Slaughterhouse Coffee. These have included loyalty cards to reward customers for bringing reusable cups, and illustrated postcards in collaboration with Loom + Lichen.
